Over the years, I have developed an idea of metaphysics that explains everything that happens, including how and why the universe is even here at all, instead of there just being nothing.  Even the ideas of freedom and determinism can be explained with a clear vision of metaphysics.  It seems to be an important question.  If everything in the universe follow universal laws of physics, doesn’t that mean that everything is ultimately predetermined ?  On the evidence, it doesn’t feel like it does, but it isn’t easy to explain how there can be any freedom in a world that is entirely running like a machine, following the laws of physics.  

     Lately I have been thinking of the ideas of Hermetic philosophy from the point of view of the colors of the aura which relate to those levels of spiritual consciousness.  I have expressed the outline of those eight different levels of consciousness (according to the planets and metals of astrology and alchemy, plus the eight trigrams of the I Ching) in many places, but here is about the best place to review all of that ~ Jesus.  

     This arrangement of spiritual levels describes how everything is happening in the world.  Just as the colors of the aura can explain and identify the spiritual energies of a single person, those same energy fields and aura colors can be applied to the prevailing winds of spiritual consciousness anywhere.  Of course, there is always a whole range of spiritual consciousness, but some places are dominated by prevailing energy fields, particularly in areas of warfare.  War expresses the ultimate conflict between the aggression, anger, and violence of the Red aura and the oppression, submission, and defeat of the Purple aura.  They can be seen raging over the planet in just the same way that a meteorologist can view the various storms raging over the globe.  The Red and Purple auras and energy fields together make up this vortex of negative energy that I have described in my last essay (The United States, a wholly owned Subsidiary of Israel).  The predominant feature of this level of spiritual energy is Loss.  As the Red and Purple energies carry on their dance together, what happens is a progressive loss all around, as the vortex swirls around and down toward Black, death.  [I have tried to express these aura colors on a map of the world ~ www.gaiaaura.com.]

     Here there is no free will.  At this primitive level of spiritual consciousness, almost everything happens like clockwork, working out the karmic consequences of the energy entanglements, which continue to whirl apart towards chaos, darkness, and death.  For instance, when I look at what is happening in Palestine, it is so appalling.  The world has seen nothing like it since the destruction of the Jews under Hitler.  I have always been struck by this coincidence, and I can only understand it as a karmic inversion, in which the horrible energy of Hitler’s attack on the Jews were somehow twisting in the wind, and inevitably bringing the Jews in Israel to repeat the experience that left such an indelible impression on their spiritual consciousness, with karmic consequence.  

     And it is the same with every vortex of negative energy (the Red/Purple whirlpool that swirls around, down, and out to the Black of death).  Between Ukraine and Russia, they are in an escalating spiral of war, which always goes downhill.  War is the path to the bottom ~ to the grave and death.  Whenever any individual or nation is on the point of war, it behooves them to employ diplomacy as a greatly superior alternative.  

     Once a war be commenced, it is already a loss.  No ones ever “wins” a war, as both sides are greatly degraded.  If winning a war means but you should see the other guy, the fact is that both sides have lost.  So why do people fight wars ?  Because they are mindless automatons (a politer version of mindless idiots or billiard balls).  The world is so full of negative energy that it propagates and feeds on itself.  Just like a small fire wants to become a big fire, a small problem wants to become a big problem, and an angry dispute wants to become a war, and neither side knows what they are doing, or why.  

     In contrast with the conflict of war (the ultimate yang energy) there is the opposite idea ~ the movement towards the center, to a point of complete rest (yin).  This is such a completely neutral point all the way around, that nothing happens there at all.  

     It is only when you rise above these levels that you enter realms where there is any freedom of will possible.  If you look at all of these energy fields together as a pyramid, you can see the White of union at the top point; and then the Gold and Green of love and grace below that; and at the level below that, one extreme is full-on war, and the other extreme is complete rest or peace (Orange and Blue); and then the level below that where Red and Purple exhaust the last of their vitality on the path down to the Black of death at the very bottom.  The higher one rises in these spiritual levels, the greater the relative freedom.  At the lower levels, there is less and less freedom, and the evolutions of those negative vortices of energy at the bottom are all determined by the karmic fulfilment of the entrained energy fields.  There is always a spark of freedom available, but because the prevailing inertia is so intense, it is almost impossible for any system evolving in the grip of negative inertia to make a radical transformation of energy reversal from the residual spark of free will that remains from better days.  

     So this means that if there be any hope for a spiritual uplifting of the planet, it must be led by those at the apex of the spiritual pyramid, the ones with the greatest degree of free will and the broadest vision.  As you go up toward that highest point, you approach union with God and cosmic consciousness.  

     “The Devil” is error, or distance from God.  All of those wounded and dying, strewn upon the field of death at the bottom, mired in Red and Purple, are very far from any knowledge of God.  

     And for those who find themselves anywhere in between, it is good to remember that, as you go up, everything gets better, and as you go down, everything falls apart.
