I hope the Dalai Lama continues to enjoy good health, and a long, productive, and happy life as the Dalai Lama. However, in the event of his death, I hear disturbing rumors suggesting that the government of China intends to appoint a Dalai Lama of its own from within China. What ? Do the Chinese think that even one Tibetan Buddhist will accept the Chinese puppet as the Dalai Lama? This idea is so absurd that it would surely provoke all Tibetan Buddhists to paroxysms of hilarity, rolling on the floor laughing.
However, I have thought of a brilliant solution to this problem. The Dalai Lama should appoint a new Emperor of China ! Surely the Dalai Lama has just as much right to appoint an Emperor of China, as the Chinese have to appoint a Dalai Lama. This would solve so many problems. The new Emperor of China, probably a Tibetan monk, would be able to reverse decades of hostility against the Tibetan people and culture. He could also put an end to the Chinese aspirations of invading Taiwan. Get over it ! The people of Taiwan have gone their own way, and do not want to be under the thumb of China. The new Emperor could also liberate Hong Kong from the unwelcome interference of the Chinese, who are unwilling to let the people of Hong Kong choose their own way. The obvious solution is for Hong Kong to be incorporated as an independent sovereign state similar to Singapore.
The Chinese people (as distinct from the Corporation of China) would enjoy so many benefits from this restoration of the Emperor. Let us encourage the Dalai Lama to appoint a new Emperor of China at his earliest convenience. I am sure he will make a good choice.
