Most of the planet considers the Americans “the Bad Guys” ~ the greatest threat to world peace. Perhaps the Trump administration should think about that, and try to figure out what’s going on. What’s going on is that the United States is on the wrong side of every issue they barge into. Practically everyone in the world agrees that Trump’s mindless attack on Iran was illegal, wrong, unprovoked, counterproductive, useless, and stupid. Not only has he wasted hundreds of billions of (borrowed) dollars with his wrecking ball, but he is even losing his war, and losing badly.
But “you don’t count the dead, when God is on your side,” as Bob Dylan reminds us ~ especially when most of the dead are your victims. And I suppose you also don’t count the trillions of dollars vaporized by the endless American military adventurism, not when God is on your side. And why is Trump so belligerent over Cuba ? What is he hoping to accomplish ? He seems to be following the playbook of Genghis Khan ~ loot and pillage, and then exact tribute. It is no wonder that China is rapidly eclipsing the declining United States when Trump spends all day shooting himself in one foot or the other. Why not simply leave the Cubans alone, and let them live their lives in peace ? What a dangerous and radical notion, surely fomented by those left-wing crazies.
And there he is. That arrogant babbling idiot in the White House, bloated on Diet Coke, can’t figure out how to defeat Iran any other way, so he is just itching to launch nuclear weapons upon the unoffending Iranians who just want to live in peace. Calling them “terrorists” doesn’t make them so. Their support for Hamas and Hezbollah in the face of Israeli genocide is the moral high ground of heroism, not terrorism. The Americans are the biggest and most lethal terrorists currently terrorizing the planet, along with the Israelis, of course, who are joined at the hip with the Americans in their mutual infamy. Can you imagine how the history books will describe these times fifty years hence ? Will the historians agree with Trump that he was the greatest President in our history ? Wait and see.
Instead of escalating to nuclear weapons, which could lead to the end of life on earth, perhaps some patriot in Trump’s orbit, who is willing to be discharged for his or her patriotism, should twist Trump’s ear and tell the Orange Monster that he’s All Wrong ~ about everything, of course, but especially about Iran. Someone needs to “speak Truth to Power” and tell Trump to get off his high horse and get back onto the rocking horse in the nursery, where he can do no more damage than mark up the floor. ~ and take his playmates and toadies with him.
Another issue is one I have been talking about for years ~ the United States is going bankrupt, while China sits quietly at the poker table, politely drinking tea behind their rising pile of chips. As Donald Trump drives his country into ruination and insolvency, the Chinese are quietly banking their winnings, increasing their economic lead on every front. How can the Americans be so blind and stupid ? Of course the Donald is way beyond stupid, but doesn’t anyone else understand what is going on ?
The fastest way to drive a country into economic ruin is to wage endless war. Trump is burning through borrowed money (and stealing lots of it with his scams, as plenty of people have noticed), and after Trump has bled our nation dry, I suppose he expects that he can simply retire with his winnings to his holdings outside the country ~ if he can find a country where he won’t be immediately arrested by the International Criminal Court, or assassinated by some outraged citizen of the world. I suppose he might hide out in Israel or North Korea. My advice for the Donald is that he wear a bullet-proof vest from now on, and not travel anywhere without an entourage of 100 carefully picked soldiers (handpicked for loyalty, not competence, for obvious reasons).
“Throughout history people always tend to assume that the current status quo is permanent, even though it always proves to be temporary,” says Glenn Diesen just now, but it is a very important observation that I have long recognized ~ so few people seem to consider the possibility of Change, but it is an important fact of life. A catastrophic collapse in the economic status of the United States could happen at any time, triggered by the ballooning debt ($40 trillion and counting fast, with a lot of the increase due to the increasingly unsustainable interest payments on the debt), or the fall of the Almighty Petro Dollar, and/or a run on Uncle Sam’s perilous Ponzi scheme bank.
The smart money remains glued to the rising bond market for American Funny Paper, for the early warning of When The Music Stops. Everyone understands that none of that $40 trillion will ever be repaid unless people go on loaning more money to Uncle Sam’s bottomless pit, so as soon as the rising bond market makes the Dollar untenable, the collapse will happen very quickly, like Black Tuesday in 1929. As I have explained in my essays on metaphysics, there are two kinds of change which happen very slowly (e.g., a gradual change from peak expansion to gradual contraction), and two kinds of change which happen almost instantly ~ such as the moment when declining credit suddenly triggers a bankruptcy. Any morning we could wake up and read the news of the financial collapse of the United States while we drink our morning coffee. Running the United States as a Ponzi scheme is creating the Mother Of All Balloons. One day it’s going to pop. Could be messy. I hope you have your Plan B ready ~ perhaps a ticket on one of Timothy Leary’s space migration rockets, in search of a new world, after this poor world of ours is trashed.
