No one seems to notice or care that the United States is rapidly going bankrupt. The road to bankruptcy is very clear ~ it’s not about simply spending money you don’t have; it’s about spending money that produces nothing useful. As long as you are spending money that has useful consequences (education, healthcare, production of useful stuff like food, planting Trees to save the planet, etc.) then you will continue to prosper. When your budget is top-heavy with military spending, whose object is maximum destruction of value (the other guy’s, of course, not your own), then you may be sure that bankruptcy will quickly supervene.
The Chinese figured this out long ago, and they have been industriously toiling away in their shops making things for sale to the rest of the world, while Uncle Sam has been building engines of destruction, and very little else. I understand that the Chinese recently enjoyed an annual trade surplus of over 1.2 trillion dollars. Compare this with the annual trade deficit of the United States ~ also about $1.2 trillion. We currently enjoy a Federal Debt of $38.45 trillion, and growing by another $3 trillion every year. One more datum to salt the pie ~ If something can’t go on forever, it won’t. (Stein’s Law). Bake for 30 days, and serve hot.
And now for a word from our sponsor ~
Sleep in peace. Big Brother knows what he is doing and has it all under control. Not to worry.
